ART TO PURCHASE Paul-Jürgen Weber, German Photographer

Paul-Jürgen Weber lives and works in Cologne, Germany.

He started first in1968 with painting and assemblage, and since the 1980s he prefers photography. His photographic reference are Ansel Adams, Harald Mante, and Bernd and Hilla Becher.

Paul-Jürgen Weber is one of a kind photographer who builds a strong body of works due to the combination of his exceptional eye and excellent control of technique. His eye is able to capture a specific angle of a scene that makes it almost unreal to such a point that we wonder if it’s an assemblage or collage of images.

None of the images has any type of collage qualities, says Weber. Even in the case of “Perspective of Cologne” the situation shown I have really met. I found it a very lucky chance to make the shot when I saw the the father and his son marveling the beautiful view. It happens during a nice summer day when the city authority had invited several sand artists to performance on the eastern bank of the river Rhine.

The only arrangement with reality he makes is when he adds

a slight blue toning to have some mystic mood or a bit of sepia-filter to get a warmer black.

As a result, each photo below suggests a narrative to the viewer who will interpret it according to his/her personality which makes as many stories as viewers for a single photo.
