“Wrinkles in times” Erik Foss x Joe Roberts

Paul Loya Gallery presents Erik Foss and Joe Roberts Collaborative Show: “Wrinkles in Time” New York City-based artist Erik Foss and San Francisco-based artist Joe Roberts will show their body of collaborative drawings and mixed media artworks at Paul Loya Gallery in Los Angeles in an exhibition opening January 16, 2016. Foss and Roberts began collaborating in 2011 immediately after meeting, working together in Foss’s New York City studio and sending drawings back and forth through the mail between the two coasts.

 

“Enjoyment of creation” this is what you got at first glimpse. All the art on the walls has been mailed back and forth from East to West in order to set a four hands conversation between the two artists. As a result those works on papers are filled with many signs, many cultural references made of collages and drawings. It’s everything but disorganized, the two know perfectly where not to go too far to keep the work composed. It is a refreshing energetic craziness.
