Serving as a reference for drawing collectors, the Fair also gathers curators, experts or amateurs from across the globe.This year, the Salon du Dessin, will feature 39 prestigious galleries specialized in Old Masters, Modern and Contemporary drawings. More than 1000 drawings will be showcased in the prestigious Palais Brongniart.

The Daniel & Florence Guerlain Foundation Prize for Contemporary Drawing

As every year since 2006, The Daniel & Florence Guerlain Foundation for contemporary art will award its prize during the Salon du dessin, on Thursday 26th March 2015. Both passionate collectors, the Guerlains aim to promote artists and to present their works to museums and institutions in France and abroad.

This year, the members of the jury are: Chicago collector Don kaul, Swiss collector Heidi Schwab, Argentine collector Anibal Jozami, and Portuguese collector Luiz Augusto Teixeira de Freitas, together with Michèle Guyot Roze, President of the Hippocrène Foundation, Henri Griffon, President of Via, and Alexandre de Coupigny, co-founder of the agency royalties.

The three Artists selected this year are Jockum Nordström, Pavel Pepperstein and Tomma Abts.

The laureate will receive a grant of €15,000 and the two other selected artists will be awarded €5,000 each. A work by the laureate will be given by the Foundation to the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou.

73 international galleries – Christine Phal is the Founder and President of DRAWING NOW PARIS. Art critic and curator Philippe Piguet is the artistic Director of DRAWING NOW Paris’s selection committee with Colette Barbier, Aude Cartier, Elsy Lahner, Marc Donnadieu, Sébastien Peyret, Andreas Schalhorn.

DRAWING NOW Award

This award helps support an artist and recognizes their gallery’s work, with an endowment of € 5,000 from the Fund for Contemporary Drawing supported by SOFERIM.

Exhibition of the 2015 winner, Abdelkader Benchamma at Christie’s France.

1st – 3 April, 2016 @ Atelier Richelieu, Paris 2nd District

Founded and Directed by Eve de Medeiros. 20 galleries will occupy 7535 sq ft in the magnificent Atelier Richelieu’s glass roof, in the heart of the French capital.

This new edition will continue its original vocation to support, promote and follow emerging artists as well as more established artists who work on all forms of drawing. This new edition will offer a convivial atmosphere of artistic discovery to professionals, collectors and amateurs. DDESSIN {16}, 4th Edition will confirm its international stepping stone role for the artists as well as its major position within the Art World.

EXHIBITION “Regards sur la Planète” (glance on earth):

Curated by Eve de Medeiros, founder and director of DDESSINPARIS, in collaboration with the art critic Anne Malherbe. As an echo to COP21 the show will present works from different private collections. These works will cope issues such as environmental and nature conservation.

SOLO SHOWS featuring artists:

Cristina Escobar, Mary-Laëtitia Gerval, Brigitte Lurton, Anahita Masoudi, Haythem Zakaria (curated by Marc Monsallier -responsible for cultural mission at Tunisia French Institute).

DDESSIN AWARDS EXHIBITION featuring previous winners:

Iranian artist, Nima Zaare Nahandi (DDESSIN Award {13}), and French artists Tudi Deligne (DDESSIN Award {14}) and Klemt (DDESSIN Award {15}).
