For JULIENNE HSU, Dogs are the “mirror of a certain American society”. She decided to choose the dogfight as recurring theme for her works on canvas and paper. It is actually a pretext for a rigorous work with a minimalist aesthetic that contrasts with the violence expressed. Compositions, twisting body are reminiscent of the writing of British painter Francis Bacon. BCh
