A FREE ELECTRON…

The Fair owned by Palm Beach Show Group in Florida returned for the 24th Edition to the Convention Center Downtown LA.  200,000 square feet of exhibition space, and this 2019 edition welcomed 112 galleries. The fair was departed in sections: CORE • MODERN + CONTEMPORARY • ROOTS • Littletopia • Works on Paper • Project Space • LUXURY pbsg.

LA ART SHOW is difficult to classify in the business of Art Fairs. It is the most diverse Art fair at all levels: from classical/traditional paintings to contemporary installation, with galleries from China, Korea, India, Japan, Australia, Columbia, Mexico, England, France, Germany or Switzerland as well as New York or Los Angeles.

Despite the partition in sections, there is no real curating intention. It sounds like they take the galleries as they come. For the worst and also for the best which in the end makes the longstanding Fair one of the most surprising and fun Fair of Los Angeles…

BEST BOOTH:

Two double booths for the Santa Monica gallery on the rise again... On the walls, magnificent large paintings by

BEST PIECE: by SANG MIN LEE at Gallery Tableau, South Korea

The gallery was showing a series of vases all in glass by South Korean artist Sang Min Lee. The vase below is a one piece only sculpture made of glass. The color of the piece may vary depending on color of the wall and on the lighting options. Very delicate, subtle and timeless piece of art indeed.

THE BEST VISUAL EFFECTS: by Anthony JAMES at Melissa Morgan Fine Art, Palm Desert

Anthony James captures the infinity in small spaces with a complex net of lights.
