Subtle balance of these little paintings by San Francisco-based painter Kimetha Vanderveen. Her paintings are made of oil on wood. The rendering is different than with acrylic or oil on canvas. With oil on wood, there is also a paradoxical result that makes hesitating between crude and refined. And what I love the most is that oil on wood always gives a physical sense of time. BCh
